Astrology is the science of all sciences ........ It is the Science of Time, Space and Causality.......

Astrology is the science of all sciences. It is the Science of Time, Space and Causality. Everything occurs in time and space due to some reason.A child is born at a particular place at a particular time due to some reason. The "experience" is in life. The life span is called longevity. Experience whether good or bad is between two points of time ie. birth and death. Time and Space is also beyond the capacity of imagination of the mind. This is called "Anantham" (Infinity) ie without beginning or end. Space is also similarly beyond the conceptual range of mind. Time and space are interconnected There is no Time without Space and no Space without Time. The first breath is the beginning of the life span. The interval between these two points of time is called Life .Experience is Life. Experience can be in gross or subtle sphere. Life is a continuity of experiences recorded in the life span. Astrology is that science which throws light on these experiences within and without of a time being in time and space.

Limbs of Vedas There are 6 limbs of vedas of which astrology is the most important and considered to be the eyes of vedas.They are 1)Chandas 2)Vyakarana(Grammar) 3)Kalpa 4)Astrology 5)Shiksha 6)Nirukta CHANDAS is the deemed to be the legs of vedas; VYAKARANA the face; KALPA the hands; ASTROLOGY the eyes; SHIKSHA the nose, and NIRUKTA the ears.These limbs are by itself independent sciences and very voluminous. The jyoti shastra has 3 divisions; 1)Ganita 2)Samhita and 3)Hora

GANITA (Calculations) contains two divisions, namely Gola and Ganita. SAMHITA includes nimitta (Cause and effect relationship etc).

HORA has 4 divisions namely : 1)Nimitta 2)Jataka 3)Prasna and 4)Muhoorta

Since time and space are the two fold very important aspects of astrology the time divisions and units deserve special attention.As already stated time is Anantha(Infinite) but for practical purposes certain divisions of time in terms of units would be absolutely necessary.These units are called KalaManam.

Paramanu is the smallest unit of time.Two Paramanus constitute one anu .

3 Anu's = 1 Thrasarenu; 3 Thrasarenu's = 1 Thrudi; 100 Thrudi's = 1 Talpara; 30 Talpara's = 1 Nimesha; 3 Nimesha's = 1 Kshana; 6 Kshana's = 1 Kashta(3.2 sec); 15 Kashtas = 1 Laghu; 15 Laghu's = 1 Khadi(24 minutes); 2 Khadi's = 1 Muhoorta; 7.5 Khadi's = 1 Yama(Prahara); 4 Yama's = 1 Day time(12 hours); 8 Yama's = 1 Ahoratra(24 Hours); 15 Ahoratra's = 1 Paksha; 2 Paksha's = 1 Month; 2 Month = 1 Ritu; 6 Months = 1 Ayana; 2 Ayana = 1 Samvatsara(1 Year); 1 Samvatsara = 1 Deva Dina; 360 Devadina = 1 Devavarsha; 12,000 Devavarsha = 1 Chaturyuga; 1000 Chaturyuga = 1 Kalpa; 2 Kalpa = 1 Bramha Dina = 14 Manvantaras; 1 Manvantaras = 71 Chaturyuga; 2*30*12*120Kalpa's = 1 Bramha's life time;

1200 Devavarsha(4,32,000 ManushyaVarsha's) = Kaliyuga; 2400 Devavarsha(8,64,000 Manushyavarsh's) = Dwaparayuga; 3600 Devavarsha(12,96,000 Manushyavarsha's) = 1 Tretayuga; 4800 Devavrsha(17,28,000 Manushyavarsha's) = Kritayuga;

12,000 Devavarsha = 1 Mahayuga; 1000 mahayuga = 1 Day time of Bramha(this is called a Kalpa); 100Bramha Varsha(Para) = 36,000 Bramha Dina's = 1 Mahakalpa(Mahapralayam);

There are different versions about the yugas,pralayas and paras.It is very difficult ot determine the past chaturyuga's and manus.Anyway the present concept is that during this bramha's day time 6 Manus 27 chaturyugas and 3 Quarters of Kaliyuga is over.During this Kaliyuga this year(1999) is the 510th year of kaliyuga of the fourth yuga pada.This will end on 16th April 2000 and the next Kaliyuga year(5101) will commence on the 16th April 2000. (A Yuga has 61 Savana,62 lunar and 67 siderial months.1 Savana month is 30 Days.A solar year is the revolution of the sun through the stars.)

Ascendant or Lagna in Astrology

Consequent on the rotation of the earth on its own axis and also around axis and also around the sun each point on the meridian of the earth faces the sun at one point of time each day .When viewed from the earth it seems as if the sun is rotating the earth.The point which faces the sun is the space aspect and the time at which it faces the sun is the time aspect. This point of space is Infinitesimal part of the globe which cannot be conceived of. The point of time is likewise the infinitesimal part of Time which also cannot be conceived of by the mind. Thus the mind is very limited when compared with these minutest part of Time and Space. Thus 360 Degrees will be rotated by the earth on its own axis within 24 hours of Time. ie 1440 minutes or 1440 * 60 =86400 seconds in the normal time measurement. So for 1 deg of space or 240 seconds. This is a very tiny part of time and we have imagination of the time by personification. The time personified is called Kalapurusha. The global angular space is 360 Deg which is equal to 360*60*60=1296000 seconds angular space unit). This space is derived into 12 signs each consisting of 30 Deg each ie 30*60*60 seconds, and each part is called a zodiacal sign. So approximately this particular portion of the zodiac will be passed facing the very same point of space on the perimeter of the sun in two hours time by the earth very approximately. No point of space is lazy without rotation. There is movement for the sun also with respect to an imaginary axis as the sun is also a very small star in the ‘Milky Way'. The milky way is a galaxy. There are innumerable galaxies like this in different forms, shapes and Sizes.

Horary Astrology

"Prasna" is much older than character reading from Astrological chart. This part of astrology is well developed in kerala than in other parts of the state and world. This is based on the principle that every movement an individuals actions and feelings will be connected to the nature which will be indicated by the planets just as at the moment of birth of the individuals birth chart. The planets ruling at the moment indicates what was, is and would be of the individual's experince,physically and mentally. Pain and pleasure are the broad classification of experience of all beings. Every being aspires for happiness always because happiness is it's Real Nature. Only where the Real Nature is over shadowed by Time, Space and Causation the happiness becomes pleasure at a lower level of the Real Nature. Thus Aannda is eclipsed and duality comes in. In duality there is pain and pleasure but pain and pleasure arise, abide and subside in happiness, the reality. The individual is limited by Time. Space and Causation. Sorrow or painful experiences are felt by the mind which have modifications like Manas(Mind),Budhi(Intellect),Chitta(Descision Making by the mind) and Ahamkara(Egoism).Therefore the necessity arises to analyze the cause of pain and pleasure for the well being of the individual.Prasna is the method of analysis of the events Astrologically based on the moments chart and to rectify the defects,defeat,pain,difficulties and defeciencies.Thus it is instant. The mentation to ask a question arises in the mind of the individual and the moment's chart reveal the answer to it. There a relationship is created linking the individual who aspires to know about a thing with the astrologer and divine principle "Atma".
